Financial Aid

Financial Aid at BCA

At Buffalo Christian Academy (BCA), we believe in providing educational opportunities to all families, regardless of financial circumstances. Our Financial Aid Program is designed to assist families based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds.

Approximately 27 percent of our current student population receives financial assistance annually. All application materials are held in strict confidence to protect the privacy of our families.

Applying for Financial Aid

We've partnered with TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services), a trusted financial aid service, to streamline the application process. TADS ensures the confidentiality of your financial information while helping our financial committee make well-informed decisions.

To apply for financial aid, complete the TADS Application/PFE by the designated deadlines:

  • April 30 for returning students

  • July 15 for new students

To begin your financial aid application, you will complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) then submit the required documents. The PFS is a comprehensive application that will take some time to complete. Give yourself the time you need by not waiting until our deadline approaches. You’ll need your most recent tax return before beginning the PFS.

TADS Application/Parents' Financial Statement

We will communicate our financial aid decision to you. To make our decision, confidentially, we use the information from the PFS as a starting point and consider our school policies, practices, and available budget.

Additional Information Required

In addition to the TADS application, please provide the following information:

  • How many people are in the household? How many of them are adults?

  • Are all adults employed full-time? Part-time? How many hours per week?

  • If unemployed, is the person looking for work?

  • How many hours are you willing to volunteer at BCA? What skills would you bring to the table?

  • How much can you pay for your student(s) tuition?

You can submit this information via email or drop it off at the school office.

Volunteering at BCA

Parental volunteering is vital. Volunteers are essential to not only foster parent partnership, but to assist the school in saving funds, thus keeping tuition costs as affordable as possible. We encourage parent involvement. Parents are responsible for participating in at least 1 fundraiser per year to help with education costs of the students at BCA.

Volunteering is particularly critical for families seeking financial aid to ensure access to a Christian education. A signup sheet will be made available by the Volunteer Coordinator and/or Principal during Back to School Night. Volunteers may be required to complete a background check as determined by the type of volunteer job.

Options for volunteering include, but are not limited to:

  • Reading with students

  • Writing thank you notes

  • Help planning and setting up holiday parties

  • Maintaining uniform closet

  • Supervising lunch and lunch cleanup

  • Supervising lunch/recess

  • Cleaning kitchen/bathrooms

  • Maintaining PE Equipment

  • Substitute teaching

  • Fundraiser planning and set up

  • Helping with maintenance/security

  • Front Door/Desk Duty

Church Sponsorship

We encourage families who regularly attend churches to explore whether their home church offers scholarship opportunities for students to attend BCA. Additionally, families can seek individual sponsors to contribute towards their child's scholarship fund. Your proactive efforts in seeking financial assistance can make a significant difference in ensuring that your child receives the education they deserve.

It's important to note that educating each child requires approximately $500 per month. Even with financial aid, we must bring in this amount per child in donations and tuition. We invite churches to partner with BCA to help bridge the gap in any awarded financial aid.
